I am New to SFV
Posted
Hello,

I am a recently divorced father. Though I had what was called the "good" divorce, I can say life is far from good at present. In the divorce I lost my house, my business, my $$$, and my job. I am trying to build a new life for me and my children, but I made the mistake of moving out of an area we all knew to come live with my parents while I got back all we had lost. To my dismay, the area that we came to has a poor economic base and high rents; making it harder to do what needs to be done.
What I am now looking for are people that live in 1) Santa Rosa 2) Palm Springs 3) Sacramento 4) Other suggested areas so I can determine where to go when / if we leave where we are.
I need to know mostly about job opportunities, housing costs, areas to avoid, day care, and schools.

Hi cajun, Just wanted to say to hang in there, with time you will rebuild.
It might help to tell what type of work you are looking for. I'm in Solano County, kind of between Santa Rosa and Sacramento. Depending on what you do for a living around here will help determine how affordable the area is.....it's expensive.

sigh, I was raised in Cal, then move to nevada, and that was too expensive, see where I ended up, lol. Occupations is going to be a factor in cal. I was looking for a place to rent in woodland( outside of Sac), they didn't require a arm and leg if I remember(Cal standards). Sadly, for what it cost you people pay for houses there, I could allmost buy half this town.

Well, I am an I.T. guy with an entrepreneur side that has been showing for the last 3 years. I am hoping to get my real estate license in the next few months, while trying to pursue other ventures as well.
