Hi there just thought I would say my first hello to you all.I`m sorry if title sounds a bit depressing but my life isn`t that bad anymore as I have learnt to cope.I have a beautifull lad of 13 who is my pride and joy, I have been a single dad since he was 3 and have learnt to put my life on the backburner.I must admit though that some days are very lonely as I am not working either so I have so much time to myself. It`s just the feeling that I am getting older and life is passing me by,I was 26 when I became a single dad and now I am nearly 40 and still haven`t managed to find true love.I spend all my time making sure my son is happy and that he has everything he needs and I put myself last.I do not get down about it anymore as I am a lover of life and feel that every breath we have is precious its just that niggling feeling of where is my other half my soul mate?Lots of love & peacefull wishes to you all.Dom & Oak.

Welcome to the forum Dom & Oak. I think a lot feel similar at times, that we've put our life on hold to raise our children. Thing is I'm pretty certain that not just single parents feel that way either. It's just easier for us single parents to feel that way since we don't have that other parent right there to help juggle the daily stuff that arises, or that shoulder right there to lean on when things start getting to us. That's a part of why this forum works so well, we have a lot of shoulders to lean on when we need. Stick around and join in, there's a lot of great people here.

Im new here myself Dom & Oak and can totally say I can relate, even though you have more years at it than I. That lonely feeling can wear you down and for me it's a come and go thing sometimes daily or multiple times a day, but by the Grace of God I make it through and hope to one day find myself on the other side of the this pool of quicksand that I am slowly making my way through.

Hi acorn,
I can understand the feeling of loneliness and I know everyone else on this forum can as well. I think we need to relearn simply to start enjoying ourselves and I believe that is when we meet that soulmate.

Totally understand. I am bored! I don't live in UK, but I can understand how you feel. This is a good site, but it doesn't compare to face to face people.
