I am New to SFV |
I have always been pretty immature about dating. Even my brief marriage was immature at best, yet it produced my wonderful son. In three years I have grown up alot, but so far my dating has not. Now I have been dividing my time between being a responsible father and recreational dating. After my last "relationship" finally ended, I have put on the brakes and asked myself what I am doing.
If I am serious about finding someone who can accept me with my son I have to look somewhere else. The problem is I don't know where to look. I have been very protective about my relationship with my son and have made it clear that I am not looking for another mother for him. At the same time I am not looking for someone who has a problem with the fact that I have him either. Point blank- I am lonely, I want to find someone again, but I will not in any way compromise my relationship with my son. My real dilemma is the half of my time I do not have him. That is a very lonely time. Anybody relate? |

![]() I will give you a big welcome as I haven't done it yet. I am 54 and have a 5 1/2 yo daughter, my oldest is 33. Dating? Whats that? I don't have the time or the money. I am very close to my older kids as well as my younger kids, so it takes up alot of my time. If you have hobbies that let you interact with others then that is a way to meet someone, if not add a new hobby to your list. Keep posting and asking questions or jest vent and you will fit in here. |

"Who me......?" At A loss for Words - NOT! |
![]() I know how you feel, from a single mom perspective anyway. I quit looking 2 years ago because of fustrations. Although I can find men who will accept me, it seemed to be difficult for them to build our relationship to greater depths to include my two sons. I know it is possible since there are many blended families out there and I am trying to learn how to foster such in my relationships. |
