I am a single father of a 13 year old boy. I have been taking care of him since he was eight years old. His mother went off on one of these internet romances. While I was at work one night she left and drug him some 3000 miles across the US to meet this guy that she had never seen before. To say the least I was a basket case. After two weeks of searching and some good luck I found them and obtained a court order and brought him home. Since then his mother has not really been involved in his life. Thank God my parents are here to help me raise him into a fine kid. I haven't really dated much since the split. Partly because of lack of time, and fear of being hurt again. The community I live in does not have much to choose from. I just feel that if I am meant to meet someone it will just happen.

Welcome Dino,
Sorry to hear how that all came about, but glad to hear you are taking good care of your son. I know it is difficult to get back to dating etc., time is one factor, another factor definitely is I think we do become more cautious. I'm kind of hoping for the same thing, that it is a matter of timing when the right situation/person might become evident. In the meantime I seem to stay busy enough with a small business and raising my 11 yr old daughter. I hope things work out well for you, you deserve it for being a good father.

Kudos to both of u for stpping up and raising your children. I have 3 wonderful monsters and none of their father's seem to realize just how wonderful they are because they think calling and visiting them is a waste of time. None the less like Dino said,
If it is meant to meet someone it will happen. Keep you mind open to that, don't think every woman u meet is the way your ex was. Good luck to u both..
