After reading some of these posts I do not feel so alone. I just turned 46 and I have 3 children. A 24 year old, a 14 year old and an 8 year old. All three live at home. At times it seems others my age have kids all out of the home and are enjoying grandchildren. Just realizing the fact that dating will not work, not at this time anyways. As others have mentioned either they are young enough and want their own kids or they are past the kid stage and can not handle sharing me with my kids. Tried that and I did not know if I was coming or going. Keeping my kids happy and him "separately" happy was too much work. "Adult kids" are more stressful then real kids. Then I woke up one day and realized I did not have to do this. My priority is to my kids "all the time" and if someone does not want to share that with me, that is fine. Maybe some day, who knows.

I have 2 boys in elementary, 8 year old getting ready to start 3rd grade and 6 year old getting ready for 1st...they also have a 14 year old big brother starting High School this year. Can;t belive I am now the mother of a high school kid...but the little kids help me through the teenager stress...lol.
