ok Heather, howzabout an even better and more personal twist to it. Buy one sentimental thing for each child to carry with them on your wedding day. Then, every year on your anniversary take a group photo with each of you holding that item (I am including you and Paul as children too by the way Big Grin ) It will be a wonderful 'marker' each year, you could even get a photo album for just this photo over the years.

How much do you want to bet one of (or all of)your 4 daughters will want to use that as their 'something old' on their wedding day? After all it came to symbolize what marriage should be... big huggies

Hellllllllloo

You are so right....I should buy something. The thought of being grandma sugar just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. I got an email from the Meagen(agency person) and it really cheered me up. I think she will do her very best to advocate for me and that is a huge blessing.

Otherwise, I am suppose to be working but here I am chatting with my new found friend.

Hope things are going well in your world and your not working too hard. Smiler

Funny, I was really thinking of a "thing" when I wrote it this afternoon. But it 'just' hit me that jewelry would be amazing. For the girls - matching tennis bracelets, but with different stones, ruby, sapphire, emerald, diamond... for the boys - pocket watches. Not everyday items. They wont wear out. They wont go out of style. The expense is brutal though....

I'll keep thinking - but glad you liked it. Too bad this is under this thread, some additional brainpower from the masses would be great!

Hey everyone.......

Just checkin I am having somewhat of a "down" day but trying to stay cheerful and excited. I love the ideas you ladies are coming up with for babies and as soon as I get back to "normal" I will think of some ideas.

In the meantime, its back to watching telly......... big huggies

ha ha ha ha - you are so funny - thank you for that. I am trying to sell my B&B and have a realtor open house tomorrow. I am busting butt to be ready. 2 dogs + 1 baby = 1 tired me. I just spread 600 pounds of topsoil had to feed Faith before planting. I often type w/ one hand on lapotop while she chomps away at the boobie - TMI??? lol

Hope your day is less hectic!

Anything to do with your baby will NEVER be tmi i love hearing about babies, single parenting, multi tasking and etc. So please spare no details am soaking it all in.

Today is a special day because I completed all the paperwork needed for the homestudy and everything is now becoming super real. I am doing this woman and I am so thrilled yet nervous. Hearing about how your doing it on your own calms my nerves. Strange huh? I just can't believe that I have come this far...Another major thing going on is that, I am going to be a U.S citizen in about a week.( I was born in another country but have been here forever). Just think God willing this year I get to be a mom and a citizen. Now what more could a woman want??? Big Grin

ok, that's a lot.
1 - Congrats on the paperwork. Verrry cool.
2 - You will be a terrific mom, the enthusiasm you have leaps off my computer!
3 - I may not be the best role model... I have boundless energy - combination of biggest belssing and biggest curse. Really. I can go a long way after I am tired and usually do. I get more done than anyone else I know. But to shut the f- up and slow down and chill out is tough for me. Faith is helping with that quite a bit. Thank goodness! I joked that the reason my husband left is that when he got up in the night to go to the bathroom, I stripped the bed, changed the sheets, folded the towels in to animal shapes and left a mint on his pillow - ha ha ha. Not true of course but a funny way of dismissing further questions.
4 - What country are you from? How exotic a multinational chick!
5 - Did you have to study for a test? You should try out for Jeopardy while the info is still hot in your brain. I'm serious. It'll help with baby bills.
6 - Did you buy a baby "thing" yet???

7 - should have ranked higher, but one hand, so not scrolling up there again... good luck with the home study. I used to be on the board of an adoption agency, time and time again they would praise the person in the not as nice or neat house who was open and enthusiastic and eager to learn over the know it all in the spotless mansion... attitude is everything! But you know that, you've got it goin on girl!

Keep me posted Love Balloons

You wouldn't know it but I am supposed to be working. I honestly have done very little in terms of "work productivity" but what can I say? am exicted.

I was born in Africa and yeah I did have to take a test. I doudt its enough to get me to jeopardy(sp) but its a good thought. One of the things I want to teach my baby is the other two laugauges i speak(for some reason i cannot spell this afternoon so forgive me) I cannot wait to teach him or her another laugauge and travel to Africa.

Thanks so much for your words of encouragement regarding the homestudy and yeah I wouldn't even pretend to know everything. I am actually wanting to take a class on parenting but am kinda nervous about that right now. I guess I want to move further along in the process before doing it. Everyone keeps saying to do as much as possible now because there may be no time later but am not there yet. Maybe once the homestudy is complete. What do you think? speaking on which, I haven't bought the baby item yet but I have been to the store again twice and looked at it each time I am there.

It was kinda funny what you said about your hubby coz I kicked out my last boyfriend for what some would consider trival stuff. But its who we are what can we say?

Also you are doing amazing well for typing with one hand i tried doing it with no luck......but once i have my baby then I will definately have to huh?

have I told you I am glad we "met" coz going on and on with you this afternoon has been comforting at best Group Hug(including your little one and the one who is waiting for me to find him or her)
