My husband and I just finalized our separation agreement in court on Tuesday--the end of a long 13 month process. I thought I would be "yippee" and get up and go, but I feel kind of lost and going a bit slow (not that I can afford to go slow with four kids!) There are things I know I should be doing like grocery shopping, putting the laundry away, practicing my viola for tonights rehersal. But, I feel like crawling into bed and going to sleep. Any tips on speeding up?

I can definitely identify with the "lost" feeling.I feel like my world just fell apart. I will put it back together again but it hurts quite a bit right now. The ex doesn't help much either, I think he enjoys rubbing salt in my wounds.

I can definetly relate. I too go through this emotional roller coaster now and then. But I always tell myself, this horrible day will only last 24 hours, and I will have a better day tommorrow.

I also take a warm shower and I get myself all prettied up, I will make a delicious dinner, rent movies and maybe invite friends over. After that I am all better. Try it!!!! It will cheer you up some!

My very first post... I can totally relate I had to kick my ex out a year and a month ago... long story but it was not a healthy scene for many reasons... for the kids or myself and I finally made the decision. Papers were finally signed 2 weeks ago and same thing... no big rush of 'hoorah' just well now it's done. Of course he has a girlfriend living in right away, what's new. I took the higher ground and have not made waves - I'm never going to be her friend don't want to see her, but it's better for the kids. They get along with her and I keep reminding myself it could be worse. I should get an academy award for playing the role of mom who is coping so well, but inside I don't think it's so true. I too am tired all the time, just want to curl up under the blankets - the laundry room seems like my nemesis... it takes me forever to get motivated to get downstairs and get it done. It ain't easy I guess, I just keep putting one foot in front of the other and remember that things always improve with time. Good luck to you, if nothing else it is helpful to know others feel the same.
