Well I too need to add that I am a single father, 40 years old of a beautiful little four year son (the light of my life).
I get to see my son nearly every weekend which is awesome, but due to travel demands, I am gone from home during the weekdays 7 weeks out of 9. This makes it very difficult to participate in activities that he does, doctors visits, and any number of other things.
Well I wish you well, enjoy the time spent with your kids because by now we know that time will pass all too quickly,
Be safe

Hello.

I'm a single adoptive dad in his 40's. Currently having a very rough time.
- Newly widowed last year
- 11 year-old-daughter, adopted, diagnosed ADHD
- Living and working in Germany
- Having a great deal of trouble getting re-started in life
- New to SFV

I'm sure time, in time, will smooth rough edges, but not as of yet. Daughter is stressed but beginning to make some good friendships. A lot of friction at home.

Hello and welcome to the site.

It's interesting to see how Single Parenting is different around the world. There are a few Europeans here, and I believe there are some in Germany specifically. I travelled through Germany last summer, and I truly absolutely loved it there.

Actually, maybe you cold help me with a question. I remember when I was travelling, some people told me that there was a modernized European country, where women can not vote still. I remember being really surprised at the time. I wanted to discuss this with someone last week, but I was unable to remember which country. I didn't find any information online, however. Is there a country in Europe where women ca not vote still, and if so which one?

Thanks,
Bobby

Big Bobby,

I think you were had...Germany gave women the vote in 1918, country-wide. I did a little research and did not come up with any German municipality that does not give women voting priviledges.

Heh...yeah, I didn't think it was Germany. They have a female Chancellor even; it'd be ridiculous if women coudln't vote for a woman running for office.

There was *someplace* that I was told of, however, and the person seemed to be reliable. I can't remember where it was though. Honestly? There's always the chance I'm just remembering wrong...

I did love Germany though. We were never in Stuttgart though; only Berlin and Munich.
