What a horrible experience for her...my heart goes out to her because I have been there, done that! I was able to put it behind me for a while though and have learned that if a man is dishonest about something this big, he will be dishonest about just anthing!! What causes men to do this...I have often wondered...?

Sorry to hear about your friend Paul....been there, done that, got the t-shirt! Maybe now she'll be able to have kids with someone else once she's healed from all this...takes a while but I do think it's easier when kids are not involved. She's in my thoughts....

On another note, how's your profile working out? Have you run it on a test run yet?

Well, she is older than myself about 50. So I doubt she's actually interested in having children anymore. She is also a very succesful business owner and an incredible success story to boot.

Okay, let me rephrase that...what makes "people" cheat?

Perhaps they aren't loyal in the first place. Secondly, if the marriage is unhealthy and abusive, one would most likely be attracted to the "outside influence" of the opposite s*x. I was in an abusive relationship for 11 years....oh Lord, how I could dwell here in this place (but I will not as it is the PAST)and I think that IF a man had paid extra special attention to me and my needs and genuinly seemed to care I would probably choose to go that direction, rather than be with the empty (and abusive) promises of my mate. It works both ways...men AND women BOTH cheat.
I think these are the main reasons why people "cheat" ....
1) current relationship is abusive or "NEGLECTFUL" ex:
(sometimes a partner will hold back and not give their spouse the attention they need, the intimacy they need...sometimes as a form of control)But I feel that men, more so than women NEED s*x as a way to de-stress, etc. If you do not submit to him....will someone else? OK...I KNOW there is a whole other topic here....let's go on...
2) unfaithfulness & disloyalty is in their hearts (who knows why but God)
3) the way they were raised(their own personal value system)
4) Perhaps they were s*xually abused in their lives and it has caused them to be either promiscous or to not want to be intimate at all.

There may be other reasons....you could add to the list. I have often thought about it, too.
