I just posted something somewhere else and I figured I make it a topic.
Am I the only one to think that we, men, deserve to have a child even if the mother wants to abort?
You read over and over here that when women tell they BFs about it the go crazy saying they don't want to be a father and bla bla bla and every one seems to think that is as much the guys fault as the mother and, for the most part, they end up in court making the guy financially responsible. So far we agree.
I was 37 when I found out I was going to be a dad, if my GF wouldn't want to have her I would've gone crazy, I mean I wasn't looking for a child, mainly because I though I had missed the train and because I wasn't in a steady relationship, but I welcomed the chance and got really excited about it.
I know it doesn't sound politically correct but I'd like to know if some one else think like me.

I think it's a terrible situation when a father wants a baby that a mother aborts.

Sadly, however, there's no practical way to solve the problem. You can't *make* a mother carry the baby to term. If you did, you can't make her do the things that would be needed to ensure the baby was born healthy.

As long as there's biological differences between the genders, you're always going to have some unfair situations.

It's nice to see a stand up Dad's perspective!! I agree that we hear so many times about the Cut & run deadbeats that believe they can "play" but when something happens (planned or not) they have the freedom of choice to walk away!! I think there are quite a few stories on the flip side of this that DON"T get heard b/c the fathers really don't have rights before the child is actually born...IT's not fair! If the men have to "pay" for their playing the women should be aware of this as well! If the father chooses to want to raise the child ALONE & get Child support from the mother who chooses not to be a part of their lives...HE should have the right to choose this as well! But unfortunateluy I don't think we'll see a day anytime soon that requires leagally the mother to carry to term & hand the baby over to the father...I believe in the freedom to choose b/c I think there are instances of ABUSE & Rape & Health issues that threaten the mother's life if she continues with pregnancy that make this something that should in severe cases be an option...BUT not for convenience or inconvenience! If a mother has the right to choose so should the Father...But like Bobby said: As long as there are biological differences between the genders, you are always going to have some unfair situations!
