Just wondered if there are any other single Dads in their 40's out there with little kids.
I love single parenting and want to know if there are any other Dads out there that feel the same way as me. |

Hi,
I am a single dad following my wife's separation at her request in April last year. I have 3 sons, and am getting on with life now after the shock & grief. I have good support, and have been to counselling, etc. If you'd like to get in touch just drop a line Yours faithfully,<br />Peter Berger |

Hello out there. I'm from Montreal, Quebec and I been a single dad of two (count'em 2) daughters for the past 12 years. I've entered into the dreaded teenage years. It can be an enjoyable and humbling experience. Good luck.

I am 42 and have had my son full time since he was 1 yr old, he's now 14. Best experience of my life. I still am a kid at heart and we have a wonderful relationship. On the side I play music in a band, and my son has become a killer guitar player, and his band plays gigs with my band.

I love my kids too and hope to be where you are soon. Right now I'm having a hard time being present with my kids. I'm still so sad about my seperation. And when I do something with them it feels odd for me and I feel sad for them that their mom isn't there too. I miss that family feeling and I mostly miss it for them. But hopefully I can give them some quality connections and time together. Have any ideas for fun together which are out of the house and not McDons playland or chucky-cheese and which are also suitable for a 3 year old that likes to run away? By the way it's nice to have someone to talk to. Thanks for just saying you're there.

Hi guys
I'm another over 40 single father, well not quite single yet but getting pretty close, my wife (soon to be EX) has pretty much abandoned our children (girl 13 and boy 10) and myself. She still comes home about twice a week for a couple of hours, but it's not a comfortable time. My daughter really resents her now but my boy is very forgiving and tries to make the best of it when she does come home. In all honesty I am looking forward to the end of this process, I feel like it is a chance for the kids and I to get our lives back on track. My daughter has always been somewhat reserved but since my wife left she has come out of her shell and is noticeably more outgoing and confident. My family and friends can't believe how different she has become, I know this is probably also because she is growing up but it's incredible how much she's changed. This divorce is a tough time, but I find that as I near the completion of this I am becomming happier than I have been in a long long time. I now know in my heart staying together for the kids is a mistake and for your kids to be happy you must be happy I hope everything works out well for everyone else here. |

Single for 8 years now and 40 years old. Two kids both live with me also. Mom doesn't even take them on weekends lots of the time. How about that for a switch?
