Does anyone know who much it costs to get a paternity test done? I've been told they don't do it in MB any more and i'm kind of stuck. I've been looking into some of the labs that do it in the states, but i'm not sure.
HELP!

How could they not do it?

This is going to be super-credible (ha, right) but I've heard, and I honestly can't remember my source for the life of me (it was a while ago) it can cost around $500.

Here's hoping I won't have to go that route (not that I have ANY doubts in my mind, but I've thought about my ex making the claim to stall any establishment of visitation. Or more accurately, her mother, since I don't think my ex would do that for many reasons).

I find that wierd. There must be a facility in every province since paternity is a major issue these days. I'll try doing a little research for you and if anyone else has any info... jump in here.

HI there

A few questions or people that you can talk with...
1. Are you on assistance? If so and you are going for custody or trying to get child support the system will help you get the paternity test with no cost to you. They want to find out who the father is as much as you do if you are on assistance because they dont want to pay you as much if the father is found and can pay you child support.

2. Going to your doctor might also help. They know how to get testing down as well with little to no cost to you.

In Manitoba and in most of Canada from my understanding, a paternity test can cost up to or around $2000-3000. But the courts might be willing to cover all or some of the test and they can get the "father" to pay for it as well and so you would be paying none to very little.

Hope this helps you!

Merry Christmas!
