Can a lightbulb (in a ceiling) not work for awhile (at least a week, closer to two) and then just work again and seemingly brighter?

(I know this sounds crazy, but I also think I am going crazy and I think possibly my ex could be trying to get me to think that)

You're not crazy. Yes a light bulb can do that but it sounds like the bulb is about to go for good.

OK That makes me feel much better. I swear the thing is brighter though.

I HATE that I am sitting here worrying that my ex is back messing with me again instead of just being reasonable......... but there have been a few other "things" too.

Hopefully, that darn light will go back out SOON!

Sounds like the bulb might be a little loose in it's socket. Or the switch is going bad, not always making good contact when flipped on. Try a different bulb first

Sometimes when the filament breaks, it can make contact again when it is bumped or moved. It is a temporary contact and will be broken when it is bumped or moved again, or when the small point of contact is burned. When the size of the contact changes, so does the intensity of the light.
If a new bulb doesn't resolve it, refer to Don's answer.
