I'm not really sure how many people you will get to answer those questions but good luck. Speaking for myself I don't want to and also not here to be surveyed.

Default Re: Willing to answer a survey??

You might include a "dummy" email address. There are some questions on there that are personal and private in nature that many will not answer in such an open forum. I have answered many of these over my years here, but like I said, some of that is just not up for public consumption or knowledge.

---------- Post added at 10:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:19 PM ----------

I think that www.surveymonkey.com is free to design such a survey. This would be a much better way to get answers to these questions without having to give away your email address, or have any of us answer some private questions so openly.

One thing that may or may not interest you from a purely sociological level, is that many of us have become personal friends, speak to each other outside of this forum, and have met each other -- sometimes travel many miles to do so.

I have had to do research for my thesis, so I know you have to find a "pool." If you do the surveymonkey, you could hit up some of the other single parent forums around as well and widen your pool of answers.

17. I have done research and of the approximately 2 million single parent households in the United States headed by fathers, only about 2% of those households are the result of a spouse’s death. Therefore, my son and I belong to a small minority of the overall population.

Currently, he shows little outward signs of lacking any emotional / physical support. However, as he grows and realizes he and I are not like other families, I fear he will be affected by it.

Personally, I feel extreme loneliness. When something happens, good or bad, I have no one to share it with. I have made a few attempts to “move on” and always ended up feeling somehow guilty. I know my son and I are different. I just hope that I will not always feel the way I do and that he will not, one day, begin to become overwhelmed by his lacking a positive motherly influence.

I have a very complicated story. But maybe that makes me special. You haven't earned private message so email could be done. Let me know
