Default How long to keep orders and documents

Hi all,

My son just turned 18 and I believe here in Colorado he is emancipated at 19.

I was wondering how long to keep all of my documentation, court orders and everything else?

I haven't talked to my ex in 3 years and my son sees him maybe 2 times a year.

Thanks!

I don't know, but here in Canada you are supposed to keep income tax records for 7 years...so I would imagine things like this are equally important. Esp. if tax benefits and credits have been in place.

Check with a lawyer in CO. If I remember right in CO 18 is legal age. As for Child Support it might go until the child finishes collage. It's up to the court.
I plan on keeping divorce decree in my long range files, but the CS/Medical records for 4 or 5 years after the last hits 18 and graduates. At least until the Motherthing catches up on her CS/Medical share.
