Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation

The Coca-Cola Foundation provides scholarship programs and alumni enrichment opportunities. The Coca−Cola Scholars Foundation supports over 1,400 college students each year, with annual scholarships of $3.4 million through two nationally recognized programs on behalf of the Coca−Cola System.

Coca-Cola Scholars Program for high school seniors

  • The Coca-Cola Scholars program awards 250 four year achievement based scholarships.
  • The initial application period is August – October of the senior year in high school.
About 2,200 of the total applicants are selected initially. These semifinalists are notified in December, and asked to submit by mid January a secondary application, including essays, official transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. Finalists are notified mid February of the upcoming April interviews. The finalists are invited to Atlanta to personal interviews by the National Selection Committee representing outstanding leaders in business, government, education and the arts.
  • 50 students are selected as National Scholars and receive awards of $20,000 for college.
  • 200 students are designated as Regional Scholars and receive awards of $10,000 for college.
Eligibility:

The scholarship for high school seniors is aimed at current high school or home schooled seniors, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, U.S. permanent residents,
temporary residents in a legalization process, refugees, asylees, Cuban-Haitian entrants; or humanitarian parolees.
The seniors must
  • anticipate completion of high school diploma at the time of application
  • plan to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution
  • carrying a minimum 3.00 GPA at the end of their junior year of high school.
The applicants cannot be relatives of officers of Coca-Cola bottling companies.

Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team

The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation also sponsors the Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team.
In addition, the Coca-Cola Foundation, along with the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation recognizes the New Century Scholars.
  • 50 Gold Scholars, each receiving $1,500 scholarships
  • 50 Silver Scholars, each receiving $1,250 scholarships
  • 50 Bronze Scholars, each receiving $1,000 scholarships.
A state may have multiple Gold, Silver, or Bronze Scholars. All scholars will also receive special medallions.

The top scoring student in each of the fifty states will be named a New Century Scholar and will receive a $2,000 stipend.

In addition, one scholar selected from among the two-year colleges located in Alberta, Canada where Phi Theta Kappa chapters exist and one scholar selected from among the two-year colleges located in the six sovereign nations and U.S. territories where Phi Theta Kappa chapters exist will be awarded. New Century Scholars will be presented at the AACC Convention.

Application dates are October 1 – December 1.
To be eligible for these programs, students must submit an application for the All-USA Community College Academic Team / Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team.
