Default Dental cavities

Hi all, I am new here and I wanna know some details regarding caring my son. I was in Germany for the past 2 years (after my divorce) and my son was staying here in Toronto with my mom and dad (he sometimes goes to his dad's place). My mom and dad were taking good care of him and I am happy to see him being happy with them . Last day I noticed that he has some cavities in his teeth, but he never made any complaint about the pain. I scheduled an appointment with our family dentist at Pearl dental, Burlington on next Friday. Will it create any other problems? Are cavities without pain dangerous? He eats a lot of chocolates and I can't control them in that. What should I do to keep him away from chocolates? I am scared! I can't wait till the next Friday to get the doctor'ds advice. Can anyone share your thoughts?
