Red face How is it beneficial?

Sorry haven't been on in a while, I work two jobs now and try and spend any free time with my son. The sobs next court date is this coming Friday and it is for RTDC, the rerpresentatives w/child support say its just for him to state if he has an attorney or not in which at that point they will provide another court date where i will be served to come and we will put together how much money we both make and then he will be ordered an amount.

Well I saw the sob's car outside of a family law attorney's office building on last Wednesday so I'm getting scared now. How does an attorney help the NCP exactly? One that has not been in the child's life at all ever, and that gets paid under the table from various construction site type jobs? Ive already provided proof/pictures of his latest job and my income as well. Should I be worried? I know he will probably want to sign away rights, is this an option his new lawyer will provide for him?

The non custodial parent could request but a judge will never let it happens, due to a chance of getting child support.

If the child would be in a life/death situation as a result of a parents rights, then the rights would be taken away.

My guess would be to reduce the amount of back child support, or monthly support.

Yeah, he is looking to protect his wallet...seeing an attorney, I mean. He cannot just "cancel" his rights in an effort to escape child support. Especially if you are recieving any type of public assistance (not saying you are).
We had a Louisianna gal on here not too long ago who's X wanted to throw away rights. It just doesn't work that way. Even if you were totally on board with the idea, the courts won't allow it unless there is a person willing to fill that roll, like a new step dad or other adoptive parent type thing. Rest easy. If he is as you describe, he will do nothing but dig himself a deeper hole...
As for you...document, document, document! Show that he cares not, pays not.
