So Hi down there in the Cherry City.

Do you make it up to Stumptown (The Rose City) very often?

Not too often. Every once in awhile I have to have a Powell's Bookstore fix, so my daughter and I run up there and spend the day!

Tazie,
Do it, do it! I have spent the majority of my life here. I have done a fair amount of traveling but wouldn't want to call anywhere else home. We have deserts, mountains, the ocean, a lush valley... we have it all! And I must say the cherry on top is Portland. If you can, DO IT! I highly recommend it.

PDXMama - I have lived my whole life in Oregon as well and cannot imagine living anywhere else. Even when it is icky outside like today, the beauty of our state is overwhelming. I live an hour south of PTown..... I think what is great about our state is the different "flavour" of our 5 major cities. Ptown is very metropolitian -- not much you cannot find there. Salem is the capital city, but has such a small town, homey feel to it. Eugene, ah Eugene --- there truly is not a more unique place. Large college life, but hippie galore as well! Bend -- high desert living, smaller town feeling, and metro/country feel.... Medford ---- influenced by Californian transplants, it has a hip and vibrant artsy community.

I love this state. I have traveled to many others and spent some time, but I can't imagine myself anywhere else.

If I was smart I wouldn't have time to post either. ha ha But I work half my time on the pc which makes it easy to lurk when I can't get into the working stride. Today I'm looking for inspiring tidbits to get me in the mood to write my book. :-/

Not sure it is time that pulls people away. I think it is more about just the space in life they are in.

I'm on the corner of Writer's Block and Boredom. How's that count for the space I'm in? I would be in an outdoor space if it weren't for this crazy weather. Even the dog is happy staying in bed. :-/

Today's weather has been awful! The kids were all excited for the first day of spring and came out in shorts this morning, I had to remind them that this is OR and spring means rain
